Started the season off making 43 starts at shortstop (46 games) and was hitting .180 (27-150) with 19 runs, 6 doubles, 1 home run and 8 RBI over the first 46 games of the season before being optioned to AAA Columbus on June 7th...Was recalled for one game on July 12 when Mike Aviles went on the Family Medical Emergency List and was optioned back to Columbus the next day...Recalled for his third stint on August 3rd and spent the remainder of the season on the Major League roster...With Columbus he batted .293 (51-174) with 29 runs, 13 2B, 2 3B, 1HR & 12 RBI in 44 games and struck out just 9 times in 195 plate appearances while stealing 15 bases in 19 attempts...Defensively for the Clippers, he appeared in 28 games at second base, 10 games at shortstop, 3 games at third base and 2 games in left field...Over his final stint in Cleveland, he batted .259 (42-for-162) with 31 runs, 8 2B, 3 3B, 5 HR and 19 RBI (.337/.438/ .775), hitting safely in a career-high 8 straight games from August 4-13 and homering in consecutive games for the first time in his career on Sept. 8-9 (first career pinch-hit home run on 9/8 at CWS)... Appeared in 33 games at second base (27 starts), 13 games at third base (12 starts) and his fist 2 career starts in left field....Finished year with 46 games at shortstop (43 starts)...Made just 2 errors in 130 total chances at second base (.985 fielding pct.)... Set a single-game career-high in RBI (4) on Sept. 30 vs. Minnesota and set a new career-high for runs scored in four games (3 runs)...From Sept. 8 thru the end of the season he hit .299 (20-for-67) with 16 runs, 6 2B, one 3B, 4 HR and 11 RBI over his last 20 games...On the year he batted .256 (33-for-129) with runners on base... Hit .300 (15-50) in 13 games for Este in November before ankle sprain ended his stint...Spent rest of off-season working out and boning up on his English at the IMG Academy in Bradenton, FL with Erik Gonzalez, Jesus Aguilar and Giovanny Urshela.

2014

Split the season between AAA Columbus and Cleveland, taking over full-time shortstop duties following the July 31 Asdrubal Cabrera trade ... Spent most of the first four months of the season in Columbus where he batted .302 (74-245) w/15 doubles, 2 triples, 5 homers and 29 RBI in 60 games around an 18-day/11-game stint in Cleveland from May 2-19 when Jason Kipnis went on the 15-day D.L ... At the time of his final July 23 recall he was tied for 6th in the International League in stolen bases (19, 4th most in PD system at the time) ... Was limited in big league camp in March due to offseason thumb surgery suffered in Winter Ball. Hit .319 (29-91) in April for the Clippers with 3 2B, 4 HR, 17 RBI and 12 runs scored in 23 games ... Also hit .375 (18-48) in June and missed 15 days from June 13-27 with a right hamstring strain ... Over his last 11 Triple-A games from July 8-21 he hit .341 (15-44) with 9 runs, 4 2B and 3 RBI...With Columbus he ap p eared in 35 games at second base, 21 games at short, 1 game at third base and left field and 3 games in center field...Batted lead-off in 57 games and in the 2-hole 3 times...Went 4-for-5 with 2HR and 3RBI on Ap ril 21 vs. Toledo...He batted .309 (29-94) off LHP , .308 (28-910 with runners on base and .298 (14-47) with RISP. Appeared in 11 games for Cleveland, May 2-19 (2-for-25, 4R, 1RBI) and p rovided a huge lift for the club after his July 23 recall ... From July 23 until the end of the season Jose batted .283 (60-212) with 23 runs, 10 doubles, 2 home runs and 16 RBI in 57 games ... Also stole 10 bases in 11 attempts (4th among A.L. rookies) and finished tied for the American League with 13 sacrifice bunts (Coco Crisp 2005 last Indian to lead/share league lead). Excelled in the two-sp ot in the batting order where he batted .299 (50-167) with 20 runs scored in 42 starts in the second spot in the order ... From August 9-end of season he hit .298 (50-168) with 20 runs, 9 doubles, 2 triples, 2 home runs and 15 RBI in 43 games (club was 28-18 from 8/9-end of season) ... Hit his first Major League home run on August 9 at New York-AL off Brandon McCarthy and his second HR on Sept. 26 vs. Tamp a Bay (Archer) ... Was 6th among league rookies in batting average and T-10th in on-base pct. With Cleveland he ap p eared in 56 games at shortstop (54 starts) and 11 games at second base (7 starts) ... Recorded a fielding pct of .983 (4E, 235TC) at SS and enjoyed a 33-game errorless streak from August 17-Sept 22....Batted .301 (25-83) in August with 3 2B, 1 3B, 1HR 7RBI and 10 runs in 24 games...Hit .289 (28-97) with runners on base ... Was the 9th-youngest p layer to appear in an American League game in 2014...Named an organizational all-star by MILB. com .... Played in 24 games for Este in the off-season.

2013

Made the jump from Class-A Lake County in 2012 to AA Akron and eventually the Major Leagues in 2013, hitting .272 (131-482) with 78 runs scored, 16 doubles, 6 triples, 3 home runs and 38 RBI in 113 games at AA Akron... He led the Eastern League in stolen bases (39), finished 5th in runs scored (78) and 12th in base hits (131) while hitting .324 (44-136) off left-handed pitchers and .296 (53-179) with runners on base...He finished T1st in the Indians PD system with Tyler Naquin in runs (78)...With Akron he appeared in 50 games at shortstop, 53 games at second base and 8 games at third base...He entered the 2013 season as the 9th-best prospect in the Indians system according to MLB.com... Had only 41 strikeouts in 482 at-bats (534 total plate appearances) and had 12-game hitting streak, July 3-August 1...Was on the minor league DL from 7/15-30 with a sprained left ankle...Pulled off straight steal of home on August 18th...Promoted to Cleveland on Sept. 1 when rosters expanded and made MLB debut that day pinch-running at Detroit...Pinch-ran and scored on two grand slams during his first week with the club and made his first career start at third base on Sept. 9 vs. KC and collected his first hit (Ervin Santana) and scored his first run that night (2-3, RS)...Appeared 7 games as a pinch-runner, 5 games at second base (1GS), 2 games at third base (1GS) and 2 games at shortstop... Entered the 2013 season rated the 9th-best prospect in the organization according to MLB.com...Injured his left thumb sliding during a winter ball game on Nov 22 while playing for Este in the Dominican Winter League that required surgery on December 11...Concluded winter ball stint hitting .287 (29-101) w/8 2B, 1 3B, 7RBI & 11 runs in 25 games.

2012

Named an MiLB.com organization All-Star...Following the season, played for Toros del Este in the Dominican Winter League where he hit .312 (44-141) with 22 runs, 5 2B, 1 3B & 22 RBI in 38 games...Season began at A Lake County on 6/22 where he hit a combined .390 (53-136) in August and September and hit safely over the season's last 9 games...Went 5-for-5 w/2RS and a double on 6/30 vs. West Michigan...Also had two 4-hit games and a ten 3-hit games for the Captains.
