The device is designed to effectively remove unwanted hair from the body without causing damage to the skin, making it a safe and efficient solution for achieving smooth and hair-free skin.

How does it work?

The principle of hair removal is the theory of selective photothermolysis (SPTL), which was published by Anderson and Parrish in Science magazine, in 1983. The theory interprets lasers as a method of producing localized tissue damage leaving the surrounding tissues unaffected.

This means that if we apply appropriate wavelength light to the treatment area, melanin in hair follicles, rather than other tissues, will be selected to absorb the light, and then convert light into heat energy. Hair follicles that support hair growth will be destroyed, resulting in hair loss or permanent hair removal.

Why 808nm?

The ideal wavelength for hair removal should be mostly absorbed by melanin, not by other tissues (like water, oxyhemoglobin, etc).

808nm wavelength semiconductor laser goes through our skin and directly arrives at the melanin in the hair follicle with little absorbed by other tissues. The heat energy transformed from the light will burn and destroy only follicles, so as to avoid skin burn and lessen skin hyper-pigmentation. It is safe and effective.

Difference between Diode Laser Hair Removal and IPL

The current technology for hair removal nowadays is IPL and laser. Their differences are outlined in the following table. We can see that IPL technology uses small power and a broad spectrum of lights, so it usually requires more regular and long-term treatments for hair removal. Diode lasers use high power and concentrated light, which works more effectively with less discomfort (for the integrated cooling system) and treatment sessions.

• The cold gel needs to be applied thinly, and the moving speed of the handle on the skin needs to be slowed down during hair removal treatment. The frequency can be set to 1Hz if necessary to change the treatment mode from continuous shooting to single shooting therapy.
• Different people have different skin color, hair color, hair thickness, hair density and personal physique. Due to limited clinical sample data, the recommended parameters are for reference only and need to be adjusted according to the physical response of the customers.
