"I typically start the layers under the chin to make sure there's not too much volume, but enough to keep the weight on top and the body at the bottom," says De La Cruz. According to the expert, slide cutting and feathering are two techniques a stylist would use to create layers in wavy tresses. "Slide cutting is used to blends and light feathering adds definition and dimension to your natural texture," he adds.
